Het tijdschrift ‘Neptunea’

‘Neptunea’ is een magazine, gedrukt op A4-formaat, bestemd voor beginnende en gevorderde schelpenverzamelaars met veel praktische en recente informatie zoals reisverslagen, boekbesprekingen of vermelding van nieuwe soorten. De artikels zijn rijkelijk geïllustreerd met vierkleurenfoto’s van zeer goede kwaliteit. Van 2002 tot 2005 werd in het Nederlands gepubliceerd maar als gevolg van het groot aantal positieve reacties in het buitenland (Duitsland, Italië, Frankrijk en Spanje o.a.) werd beslist om de teksten voortaan in het Engels aan te bieden. Zo was het mogelijk om ook nieuwe soorten te publiceren.

Belangrijk:
- het project is niet gesubsidieerd en medewerking is in principe onbezoldigd;
- elk jaar verschijnen, op niet-periodieke tijdstippen, vier nummers met gemiddeld 30 pagina’s;
- nummers kunnen afzonderlijk verkregen worden en een abonnement is niet verplicht;
- er is een vaste verkoopprijs (€ 12); een luxeversie op dubbelzijdig fotopapier kost € 20.

Op dit ogenblik zijn de uitgaven vooral gericht op de bespreking van mariene mollusken uit de oostelijke Atlantische Oceaan met naburige zeeën. Geregeld worden nieuwe soorten beschreven, zoals Bolma christianeae, Bolma madagascarensis, Clavatula nathaliae, Clavatula quinteni, Clavatula xanteni, Clavatula matthiasi, Clavatula hattenbergeri, Clavatula congoensis, Diodora canariensis, Drillia katiae, Nucula mariae, Phenacovolva patriciae, Drillia annielonae, Clavatula knudseni, Clavatula delphinae, Clavatula pseudomystica, Conus trencarti, Drillia ghyooti, Pugilina dirki en Crassispira pseudocarbonaria.

Nieuwe auteurs worden aangemoedigd om interressante artikels te bezorgen. We verzekeren een snelle publicatie, maximaal drie tot vier maanden na afgifte van de kopij. We zorgen eventueel zelf voor het maken en bijwerken van digitale macrofoto’s. Voor meer informatie verwijzen we naar de ‘Instructions to authors’ op de Engelstalige versie van deze website.
